Dozen Arrested in California in Connection with Illegal Gambling Raids

A series of recent police raids in San Diego, California, led to the arrest of twelve individuals involved in illegal gambling activities. The raids, which occurred within a span of less than 48 hours, targeted two separate locations: a neighborhood market and a private residence.

Seizure of Gambling Machines, Cash, Drugs, and Firearms

During these operations, law enforcement officers seized nearly two dozen gambling machines, as well as significant amounts of cash, drugs, and firearms. The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) confirmed the arrests and released details to the public late last week, shedding light on the ongoing efforts to combat illegal gambling in the region.

At one of the locations, identified as a neighborhood market in the Teralta East area, police arrested four suspects. There, they discovered nearly $500 in cash, nine gambling machines, and a replica firearm. Meanwhile, in a separate raid at a private residence on Fairmount Avenue, officers uncovered a dozen illegal gambling machines, over $1,000 in cash, two handguns, ammunition, and a variety of narcotics. Eight individuals were arrested at this second location.
